At Abuv, we designed, illustrated, and printed a custom activity book for The Children’s Dental Center. The book showcases the dental office’s mascot, Jacques, as he dreams himself into different jobs including an astronaut, cowboy, painter, park ranger, train conductor, and scientist. Opposite each page, there are a variety of activities for the patients and their families to do together, such as a word search, crossword, and connect the dots.
Using the inspiration of what every child wants to be when they’re older, Abuv created a custom activity book for The Children’s Dental Center. I started the project by laying out activities, games, and careers that can be used as interesting visuals. I brainstormed over these ideas with our illustrator, who then created various illustrations showcasing Jacques as an astronaut, cowboy, painter, park ranger, train conductor, and scientist. As those were created, I worked on activities such as a maze, word search, and crossword that can be included on the opposite page.
After the booklet was approved, I partnered with one of our vendors to produce the book with a high quality cover using a glossy finish and uncoated interior pages to allow for coloring and drawing. The end result was a vibrant, fun activity book that The Children’s Dental Center can give out to prospective and current patients.
