One of our long time clients came to Abuv asking for their site to be completely revamped. I designed and developed a new site for them that included all of the much needed content and features that allowed for their potential tenants to get the information they need.
When Oxford Realty Group first came to Abuv looking to remake their website, we were already running maintenance their current version. It was dated and didn’t have the ability to be updated to contain certain new features in the future.
One of the first steps I go through when building a new site is to find out what features and content are most important to show off to the future tenants of their 20+ properties. There is a lot of information that the site visitors want to know and figuring out the hierarchy of it is most important. This allows me to figure out where to begin with the property page’s layout.
Once I have an idea of the content hierarchy, I create a mock up of what the site should look like. This includes creating each page in Photoshop, from scratch, in order to show the client a proper representation of what the site will look like once completed. I write a lengthy description that supports the mock up, detailing how the site will work, what each feature will do, etc. After discussion and any revisions, we move on with the approved design.
The next stage was development of the site. I built it on the WordPress platform to allow for flexibility if new features needed to be added. All of the content is editable from the admin panel through custom fields and post types. It was developed using HTML5 and CSS3 and was made to be mobile ready, as is standard.
