Rise came to Abuv through a referral, looking to get proper branding before their grand opening. My first step was discussing with my client what the goal of their business was. Since they were working with children, they wanted to keep things welcoming, but also make sure the new branding looked professional for the parents as Rise was to be entrusted with the wellness of their children. Rise had a very specific vision in mind when it came to their brand, so I worked closely with the owner to conceptualize their ideas and create a visual representation of it.

I started out by sketching a variety of sun icons, showing it literally rising into the sky, as well as lone versions with a lot of motion. I narrowed it down to a few options, with the current logo being the approved choice. I made some alterations and refinements that would help during different printing methods, and finalized the logo. A variety of color options were given, with yellow always being the primary choice.

I built a full branding package for them, including stationery, social media graphics, t-shirts, and a style guide. I decided to keep things very simple for the stationery, making use of a bold navy background with solid yellow or a gold gradient on the sun burst. Thin lines were used on the social media graphics to help frame content, but still keep things light. This is where some of the accent colors come into play, making each graphic feel unique and friendly with the use of seafoam green, cool grey, and gold.

In the end, the client was ecstatic to receive a professional, fully immersed brand identity. The social media graphics will make it easier for them to keep a consistent look on their Instagram and Facebook accounts, while their stationery allows them a professional look when sending official correspondence. Going forward, they will be able to build more graphics if need be, based off the directions given in their style guide.
